I'm sure you could have fun no matter how fast you drive.

There are usually several 4 bangers and they keep up fine.

Cool car I hope you bring it

As a confirmation to the above statement by Dave, no one should ever " Not Go" because they are worried about everyone driving to fast. I have been on quite a few of the runs, both up front and in the back. Both are a lot of fun. There is no pressure and everyone gets a map so no secrets on where we go. Come enjoy the drive, go at your own pace and hang out with like minded friends. Good time are always had !!

Awesome to see an AMBR roadster get driven hard. That's the way it should be.

Thanks for the pics, did you manage to get a ride? How many cars made the run?

Hate that I couldn't make it this year. Hoping all comes together for next year.

I forgot to count how many cars went on the run...I'd guess 12 to 15. I did end up getting a ride. Mike B and I hopped in his 33 Ford pickup and went along as a chase vehicle since he had a bunch of tools with him. We didn't make it around the whole run; in fact, we only made it about the first 10 miles before Brandon, driving the black '22 T bucket developed generator trouble. The generator was shooting sparks, and locked up, so he took the fan belt off and limped the car back to Petaluma where we were able to borrow a generator and get the car going again. Since Darryl and his wife had driven up in their 32 roadster from Concord with Brandon and his wife, all three vehicles pulled off to go back to make repairs on Brandon's car. After getting the T going again, we knew we couldn't catch the rest of the group, so we headed to Tomales for the lunch stop where we arrived ahead of the others. After lunch, we took off with the group again until the transmission in Brandon's T lost 2nd gear. The transmission was making a lot of noise, so we pulled off again rather than chance blowing the transmission entirely before Brandon and his wife Nor Cal Roadster Run 7-9-16 064.JPG Nor Cal Roadster Run 7-9-16 076.JPG Nor Cal Roadster Run 7-9-16 078.JPG Nor Cal Roadster Run 7-9-16 111.JPG got home.

I bet Brandon is running a 39 toploader behind that Caddy LOL Sweet T-bucket though. I've got a 24 Bucket with 318 Poly and 39 top loader so I know the limits.
You had a very eventful day Craig but you got to see the cars, took some pics and helped the entrants. Good stuff.

Great time on the run. Like the saying goes you'll never see a roadster parked in front of a psychiatrist's office.
Everyone met and had coffee and donuts, then headed out through town and on to some of the best back roads. The run was not without problems, but everyone stopped to help, even the locals came over. Some of the participants went over to talk to them, and share some food. We continued on heading south through the twisties to Mill Valley, Larkspur for a fuel stop. Then to Highway One past Stinson Beach, Bolinas, Point Reyes and into the fog. We stopped in Tomales Bay where the rest of the group meet for lunch and bench racing. Then back into the land of sun heading to Sonoma where as the sign says "Roadsters + Drinks are what Dreams are made of". View attachment 3269505

Great idea. We should organize one of these in So Cal, Blues. We just need to keep it off the freeways.

I've been thinking about it, especially after seeing the thread about a Hot Rod Hundred reliability run. That got me thinking about it more, I even plotted out a route that would take about 100 miles, all back roads through the foothills and mountains. I've been thinking of making a scouting run, looking for places where we could meet in the morning, and gather at the end of the run. No freeways on the run, but how you get there and get home afterward is up to you.

Any more pics of that sweet little '33 chase pickup truck?

  21. California is a huge state with a shit load of back roads, go for it. I spent last weekend doing a vintage sports car rally (Faultline 500), ran thru the Central part of California, the Valley out to the coast and back. We did about 600 miles in two days, 95% back roads. Lets do a Nor Cal/So Cal super run !!!!

I entered and participated in the last three Pasadena Roadster Reliability Runs with my original '32 and had a great time. I miss the event and don't know what the legal issues were that prohibited it from continuing. There were wonderful cars and people involved and great seeing so many historic vintage roadsters. A number of us are hoping that the club will resurrect this terrific event.
