That Falcon looks really good! Thanks for showing it and for keeping Hubert Platt's name on the H.A.M.B.

  6. Thanks, I never had seen headers like that when I built it, but have seen several 1.1 scale rods with headers done this way since.

Here's my submission, Ed Roth's Outlaw... I painted it years ago, just finished it yesterday 'cause it was too damn hot outside! The '29 A pickup was an older 2 day build, and you can see a '48 Ford convertible in the background with an Olds grille waiting for a chopped top and Carson top. 18. Thanks. Looked like a great show. Today the grandkids were here, so we played slot cars. I 'll post a few photos. The detail on the little red wagon is great. I have one I built as a kid, 1st issue and brush painted lol. Is the Out Law hand painted or decals ? Either one would be hard to do! Nice 29 too. wojojo nice 62, and thanks for the jump start. chevy57dude thanks for the like, and yes it fits right in with my stuff, dust and all. ha ha. Ron... 001.jpg 002.jpg 003.jpg

That shop is awesome man, but it isn't real enough tho..... Waaaay too clean!! LoL!

On another note, I can't post pics in this thread for some reason. It just gives me a message about JavaScript or something. I can upload in other threads tho. Anyone know what's up with that or have the same thing?

    hello,
i just found this in the garage...it is pretty old. we were walking around long beach a long time ago and saw a shop that had a bunch of car models. i missed out on a black 58 impala kit in another toy store, but this one was on the shelf. i had visions of setting it up like my old 58 black impala. well, many years have gone by and it still sits in the garage car stuff cabinet. we used to make headers and roll bars with wax rods that were used for lost wax casting in jewelry. melded them together with a hot wood burning tool, painted them silver or black and they looked real. we made the hot dragsters of the day with the long pipes and the roadsters with the long side pipes. we even flared open the tips to give it a custom look. this impala was going to have those long scavenger pipes popular in 1960-61. those were the good old times...

    hello,
those lost wax casting rods were very real looking for headers and roll bars, but on those hot so cal days, some of them got a little out of shape...but, it is the closest thing to making your own rails and tubing without using real metal tubing, which was expensive back then. even carb stacks looked real. now, you can get these at most hobby shops. many years later, in college, i took a jewelry/art design class and we used these rods to make rings/ bracelets. the art of lost wax casting was easy and functional.
