I'm really enjoying your build. But you need to take sharper photos - I can't see all the juicy details! Gary

  3. Looking at your frame, if you plan to run the car in vintage race events, you might consider (if you haven't already) stiffening it. If you plan mounting the engine, solidly on all four corners, that'll help the forward part of the frame. However, the rear will wiggle and sway "Like a 36 year old stripper". Back "in the day" some seemed to think it help them get "hooked up" on dirt. However, it appears all the 'loose" chassis accomplished was an eventual break. When race car designers finally came up with designs to keep frames from flexing, things got a lot better. I should think some "boxing" and well placed cross members should work. As I have a roll bar on my car; I tried to think of a way of incorporating it into a type of spaceframe structure. It just wouldn't work, unless I rebuilt the whole car.

But, if you're planning to just parade and show the car; forget it, it probably wouldn't be worth your trouble:)

    Here's another update..
Lots of riveting, I thought it would go really well with the styling of the car. And if I mess up a panel, it's easier to replace:D

The Riley head finally came back from the machine shop, so now I can get back to fabbin' up the body and hood. I still need to build the intakes so that the carbs will be on top of the motor.

I'll bet the Model A four banger could really come to life with a Cragar OHV conversion. Here is one to look at.

I need to get some new pics..
Been building intakes and reworking the winfields so they'll work.
I was hoping to have it running by Christmas but just haven't got to that point.

Try to get some more posted this weekend.

    Well here's some pics.
when I have time to work on it, I've been trying to get the intakes all welded up and have the carbs in the shop. The carbs are the things that are really taking up time. They are a little messed up with corrosion(sp) and some of the needles are bent:mad:
