Well it's in the books, the Annual Spamarama at Bubba's Hot Rod Shop in Speedway, Indiana went well this year. Sponsored this year by a local restaurant called "Bourbon and Barbecue". Each year he had this open house in conjunction with the Goodguy's show, but they canceled the event, but Bubba's was determined to continue. With the Help of the staff at Bourbon and Barbecue, they put it together, not knowing what would happen. Well, let me tell you, it was not a disappointment. Bubba started the day by stuffing jalapeños so the Pit Boos could get them in the smoker. To give you a idea, Bubba (with the help of some friends, gets involved.... Of course, not all of us helped... Pretty soon, cars started to show up... Bubba's "REAL STEAL" Pickup, made from a Tudor Sedan...big GMC Six in it... This was a custom made from a 51 Ford, and stll has the original Flatty and suspension. Real cool. Terry Engles (You guess what it is..) This ' Burb sits on a complete Trailblazer chassis and body has been shortened 3".. WOW it is cool.
Then the food was ready... We packed the parking lot... Music was provided by the "Punkin Holler Boys" There was even dancing it was a good night indeed.. Good friends, Kool Cars, Great Food, Music, Life is good.... Thanks to Jim (Bubba) Linder and his friends that help prepare and bring food. Thanks to "Bourbon and Barbecue" for sponsoring the event and cooking and proving the SPAM, Slaw, Beans and a whole lot more......it would not of happened without them....
Thanks to all who helped make this a "Speedway Social Event of the Year" Main streets best event ever !!!
Looks like a great home spun deal all around. Hell the stuffed jalapenos and Spam would have been worth the drive. Thanks.
Dang it! I missed it. I haven't missed one in probably 10 years. I somehow managed to not hear about it this year.
Nice cars but I think that one will never be on my bucket list as I told my wife when we got married that if she ever brought a can of Spam in the house she better have her divorce papers with it. That little Army cook and his "lunchoon meat" when I was with A troop 1/9 CAV in 1968 burned me out of the stuff to the point I still can't stand the smell of it. Looks like people had fun and the cars sure look like a great assortment though.
As you can see by my avatar I would have loved to have been there. It's definitely on my bucket list.
Happy to see it continue. I've been a few times during the GG events, not too pleased that they completely pulled out. Nice party. I listen to the "boys cd a lot.
Guess I've been gone from Indy too long - I'm a former long time westside guy. I thought it looked like Main Street, but everything's changed so much since I've had a chance to get back for a visit. Thanks for posting
FYI: Bubba created a Facebook page for all of you that want to follow the SPAMARAMA... https://www.facebook.com/groups/1747596578819967/?fref=nf I'll try to be sure to post it on the HAMB too... this was a great open house... fun, food, friends and cars...does it get any better....
Looks like fun- at our cabin a fav is spam and eggs cooked in a cast iron skillet on top of the wood stove- great pictures of some very nice vehicles-
