In East Texas trees are a renewable resource, once clearcut tracts end up being sweet gum and elm jungles. There's limited local markets for good timber, less every day as wood-related industries close up. Latest scam is bio-mass energy plants.

This one brings back great memories. Had a good ol Alabama boy named Jim for a neighbor when I was a kid. Definitely the cool dad in the neighborhood. Just a regular guy, Navy vet. Drove a bus for Metro Transit in Seattle. Always had something good and greasy going on in his garage or driveway, cars or motorcycles. Helped him and his boy rebuild a 348 Chevy under a tree in his front yard, motor stand, nope, we flopped it around on piece of plywood on the ground. Jim has been gone for many years now. RIP Jim.

Such a pretty area!!!....we used to travel that road quite a bit, and spent lots of time at Three Fingered Jack, and Sisters too....I admit I miss the area very much! Sure brings back happy memories....thanks for sharing!:D
