Hi all, I have been on this site reading and getting great information for years. After collecting old ford stuff i started a 31 roadster build.I want to keep it early to mid fifties because thats when i was made. Thanks to all who post great ideas, builds and tech stuff.I don't post much and some times don't get on the computer for days. I got my engine, trans,on chassis done, and I am working on torque tube and radius rods now.I am pretty pumped.I've been showing pictures and thought I would share a couple. jan16 169.jpg [ATTACH=full

Thanks. 048.jpg 049.jpg 051.jpg 053.jpg 071.jpg I cut down the ends of the crossmember to fit in the frame, then welded all the holes closed and reset the pedals to fit as the model a pedals were. Also had to heat and bend a little.I think these pictures will show what i did.

It is metacryl 2 stage, It has fast, medium and slow hardners available so you can get to flow good at any temp. Seems to work well and is reasonably priced.

Looks great! If mine were painted, our chassis' would look quite similar. Have you worked out your clutch linkages yet?

I did. I welded an angle to the frame and bolted the ball to it. I had to cut a section out of the cross shaft and cut off the arm that the yoke goes to and reweld in a different position. A few hours of fab work and stock ford parts it works good. I took some pictures with my phone in the cold shop and the flash makes them look funky, but you can get the idea. Thanks for the compliment . jan19 036.jpg jan19 033.jpg jan19 035.jpg

I have gotten a few more things done on the chassis. This working for a living thing slowed me some. Should be starting on the body stuff soon.

great I am building mine exactly the same way so great info here. You moved the pedals to a position that the clutch lever fits, right? Or did you shorten it?
did you rebend the pedal arms?
    wanna see more too..

Looks like you're using a T rear spring. Did you modify your rear crossmember to adapt to the larger curve of leafs?

I welded the f 1 holes and moved the pedals. I also re bent them to where it was comfortable for my feet. Then shortened the cross shaft.

I made a peice to fit in the crossmember. Milled some 1" square and welded them to 3/8" flat bar. Might have been more than need but I did it any way. Also used the a upper leaf and reshaped it. Made the lower blocks fit the contour also,by welding and grinding

Haven't posted for along time. I started working on the roadster again and have made some progress. I know this is like a lot of others, so I don't want to post a lot of pictures. Here are a couple of updated pictures. IMG_1193.JPG IMG_1192.JPG IMG_1191.JPG
