For about $60 I found all the car stuff at the flea market. How did I do? The big car trunk looking thing I was told came off the back of an old truck. Anybody have any ideas what it is? The hose reel looks to be made from some old steering wheels.

That is a Model T Ford roadster turtledeck, fantastic score for $60! The window decals are neat too.

Dang you caught me. The guy threw in the Alvin Vinyl figure. The turtledeck I left for a few hours. I wasn't sure what it was. I came back and the guy said he'd take $10 so I grabbed it.

$10?? If you were closer I would double your money.

  9. That ('23-'25) model T turtle deck is a good score for the price, but it will take a GOOD metal man to make it straight. I spent weeks on one just like it and never got it good.

You know you've been at it too long when every comment brings Grateful Dead lyrics to mind:

    "I run into Charlie Fog,
Blacked my eye and he kicked my dog,
My doggie turned to me and he said,
Let's head back to Tennessee Jed."

    Alabama is for the birds!

Thanks for the comments. The important thing is me and my 9 year old boy had a blast digging around for old car stuff. We used the battery charger to charge the battery in our 51 ford as well.

Great score, love that kinda thing. Do yourself some advance justice and NEVER leave that old charger plugged in overnight. As cool as they are (I have a couple too) they were also prone to failure. Neighbor woke up to a flash fire in his garage using the same Riverside low amp charger on his Model T overnight. We may bitch about new electronic stuff but they don't spark inside. Again, great score, enjoy...

    Good score.

Its come full circle, flea marketers have been clogging up car swaps for years, Now we can go to the flea market to find deals on car parts.
