The last pic is Barry Lobeck (RIP).That pic maybe Gatlinburg rather than the Nats. img017.jpg

Thanks - wonder what happened to all of the chrome True Spoke wire wheels - just rust away because too hard to maintain?

You must have had a thing for 34's. At least one of those cars is owned by a HAMBer. The low Vicky is owned by Rice and Beans.

  10. My very first Nationals!!!! Made the trip from Jamestown NY in a newly acquired T Bucket. Drove all the way, around 900 miles one way !! I didn't have a top yet and if you attended , you know that it rained all weekend!! I learned real quick about rooster tails on open fenderless cars !!! I wore a helmet and rain poncho while traveling. That had to be a picture!!! Met Norm Graboski there!

That Lobeck 32 Tudor with the Halibrands has got to be one of the best ever built.

And that 34 Roadster sure has a good look.

Post more if ya got them. I keep hoping to find an early pic of my yellow 32 5W.

I always wonder where all the sedan deliveries are hiding today.

img019.jpg A few more. Alchemy said there were a lot of 33/34 pics. Sorry I threw away most of the pics of other cars years ago.

Our club selling street rod calendars standing next to my 34. Of course I had on my Stroker cap. Also a pic of Roger standing in the bed of his C-Cab he won at the nats in 1971. img024.jpg

That was the 1st Nationals for me. I'd gotten out of the Army in 73 and by the summer of 75 I had a weeks vacation coming to me. 2 friends and I hopped into a 62 Econoline van and made the trip to Memphis. We'd never seen so many hot rods in one place before - thought we'd died and gone to heaven. I've probably got some Instamatic photos somewhere.

  24. The two at the bottom are of my friend Bob's '34...
He bought that car at age 14 in 1950 and he still owns it! He lives in MO now.

Quite a bit of fun seeing the "new" cars in the back ground. Monte, Impala/Caprice , Gran Prix, Torino and the vans of course.
    Thanks for taking the time.
