That was a cool show, my first time there! We just got done working on that bare metal Mercury pictured above
I never new they had an American Graffiti day there. Now I have something else I gotta add to my bucket list. Thank you for sharing. Bill
You're welcome. It's actually a weekend long deal with car show, cruise, dinners, swap meet etc.. Candy Clark and other stars of the movie are usually there. I got there late but didn't see the AG Merc come through. There were many more non Hamb cars. http://www.americangraffiti.net/
Reminds me that my Uncles Garage in San Rafael,(Milani's Garage), was used in some shots of AG. My sister worked in Hollywood and made the connection for them. Petaluma is next door to San Rafael. He had some cool cars including a Model T racer, supercharged Cord, a 1936 Boattail Auburn Speadster and a few others I've forgotten. Sister and I used to spend out Summers in San Rafael with my Grandparents so got lots of cool car exposure.
I plan on being there in 2018 when I retire, driving my 40 Ford from Nebraska west on Old Lincoln Hwy, parallels I80...a few weeks in So Cal, then back on Rt 66, visiting friends in Denver, Salt Lake, & Phoenix...told the wife plan on being gone 4-6 weeks.
