    This is fairly tame by comparison to some of the catastrophes pictured in this thread. This is the motor from my car that's in my avatar. Was driving in the middle lane of a busy 3 lane highway at about 65 MPH when the rear wheels just locked -here's why

    Didn't seem to look any better upside down with the sump removed.

    Got it stripped here, nothing really reusable in the bottom end.

    Was a bit sad to lose this rather special timing cover, but I do still have the home made wooden casting patterns, so should be able to get my local foundry to cast me another one.

    Posted recently. The ARDUN parts are ok. Should state the Ferguson ARDUN had nothing to do with the failure.

  10. My father in law ran his big motor home so hard and fast he melted a piston in the motor. He still has the melted piston and uses it as an ash tray now LOL. Bruce.
