thats what the engine machinist said, that the cam gear alloy got sent back into the bearings and clogged them up.

Like X38 I believe that theres still an issue but not 100% sure what. But I want to find it before it goes together again!

I will drag out the alloy gear and take a snap, its ugly thats for sure.

at cruising speed, the blower isnt putting any boost into the motor and the temp and oil pressure were good. No pinging etc. which leads me to believe that it was mechanical failure. I have bought a new oil pump just in case and had the oil pathway pressure tested for pin hole leaks or core shift etc.

worst part is my crank is toast, cracked...

oh well...

 

Didn't you spend hours with a dremel on that crank? Man that sucks!
Makes me nervous about my next project!

 

The cranks toast...DAMN, that's the one thing I was hoping would be ok....

Geez you dragged this up from the murky depths brootal, enough time has gone by that its an amusing saga now. Was good to see you at the boogaloo the other weekend. I can say the roadster has done a fair few miles now.
