yeah, stock '36 chevy truck gauges..... thanks.......its a long stretch but its getting closer....I figure about 2 months, 60 days till she's running. If I didn't have to break in the cam she'd be running now. Mocked in the '36 chevy car grille.......
well, I got the headlight shock mounts fabricated and welded in. Its not fancy dancy, but it works The headlight shock mound stand piece comes from Pete & Jake's.
Great looking. I am building a 35. Got the truck ten yrs ago, will hopefully have it on the road this June. Every time I think I am getting close I see another dozen things that need be done, but I will getter done
thanks man.........good things take time.......and money, post some pics of your truck or pm me for my email so I can enjoy them. Welcome to the H.A.M.B. thanks man
Nice looking build. Neat looking grille shell. One comment and just a thought as I looked at that she'll for the first time, the bottom sides of the shell would look cool if it contoured in a little following the line of the grill a little more if you understand what I mean. Just an observation after seeing that shell for the first time. Cool looking truck, good luck getting it finished
thanks man,............ I see what you mean about the grille and it would look way cool if I reshaped the bottom 1/4, BUT, I don't want to go backwards if I don't have too. My goal is 65 days from now, I'll be roaring down the highway, a grin from ear to ear, and one step away from the law.
I get it. Maybe something to do a few years down the road when you're ready for some changes! I hope the rest of the build goes smooth for you! Enjoy
well, my buddy and I had a productive afternoon.......... got the steering arm, drag link, and pitman arm modified. Notice the steering arm is a 90 degree angle to the drag link and 90 degree angle to the pitman arm. Its also parallel to the split bones. No bump steer! I jumper on the front of the frame and the steering wheel didn't move.....no bump steer. Also bent and twisted the brake pedal arm so it's almost where I want it. Longer pitman = faster steering, maybe but I used the same set-up on my A build and it steers great.
well, I figured one way to do the floors...... used 1/2 steel rod, made a temple using a hanger (wire) then welded body (fender) clips on the rods and around the floor panel. Nice sturdy floor. Attempted to roll some beads in it but its too thick to make any good impressions.I like to bolt my floor panels on just in case I need to access underneath, or pull the tranny.
well, I got some more done on the hot rod....mounted the retched shiftier, installed shift cable and brackets, installed window regulators ,door latches and side door panels.Got the gas line and transmission line plumed in also. Now my buddy has started to wire her up using a Rebel wiring 8 circuit kit.
well, still plugging away , everyday getting a little more done. I tightened my windshield in too much and cracked it up the middle. Sent it back to the glass shop. Seat ready to be covered, wiring 3/4 done, battery box build and installed. Start up with in the next 2 wks.
you bet ya...... just driving in my dreams so far..... well, just a few more things on the list to do. Tomorrow I'm rolling her out for my first test drive. As you'll notice I replaced the 97's with a 600 cfm Edelbrock. Also included a few poor quality film clips. I'll post the clips later when there processed........
