Wow just wow. What a great find, build and story. Perfect restoration. History on wheels. Wish I could make TROG and watch Buddy.

Are you still going to repaint it the original color from the 50's?

The Hinman Roadster is running and driving! It is crazy fast, and handles like a go-cart..... so FU to all the ney-sayers AND all who said that it had, or would never see the road again!

An old friend of mine in Santa Clara (Tony Pombo) built a '25 TT truck (body) on a Model A frame with rails turned inside-out just like this! (1956)
Tony was nearly finished with it, (flathead, '39 box, '40 rear, suicide front) when he dropped dead. (heart, at a too young 25 years!)
Imagine the 'start' I got when I saw this one!
There was a Midget built on 'inverted' 'T' rails, V860, in the '40s. It was 'stabled' at Sim Clark's Midget shop in Santa Clara around that time...
Always wondered the 'why' on the rails.

  13. i've seen the instagram video of it going by. it looks really fucking cool.

really cool find and a great save, love that you got it back on the road! I've never seen a Model A frame used that way, very inovative. I have a question about the front end, with the steering arms flipped over does the handling get weird with the altered ackerman (spelling?) angle?

  25. I saw Bud today, his son has been showing the progress being made on his old Hot Rod.
Ever the racer Bud has been parked by A.C.O.T. (Atlantic Coast Old Timers) for jumping the start and braking the track time speed limit.
Bud said "I got board and wanted to race"

Photographs I took of Bud with the car he won The 1969 Mid-State speedway track champion with-

Hi...contrary to everyone's beliefs, this car actually handles incredibly well! It steers and perfectly...even with reversed ackerman! The caster angle is exaggerated as is the toe in. The engine is set way back too so the weight is more to the middle of the car, instead of right above the axle...
