Got a 65 falcon in a trade today, I know 4 doors are frowned upon but this one is clean with a 170 inline, totally rebuilt, no rust, flawless interior, daily driver,.. it was in a part trade that I got it..just wanting to know how much more or less .. 20160322_134429.jpg

  2. Wish I could quote a real value on that cream puff. What I can tell you is that the prices on the more doors seem like 2 door prices from 25 years ago. That Falcon isn't awkward looking at all. 51 year old driver ready to use is a $5000 car IMO.

Might be worth more to keep it - cheap to run, ditto on the insurance ( if you need it in Fla.) great family or party car with all those doors! Rebuilt already- perfect daily driver.
Re sale maybe 3- 3500?? Hard to say-but remember, there's a nut for every bolt! Pick a number, stick with it for a while, and see what happens.
    Good luck.

  4. I had a nice '65 2-door years ago, 3 speed, no radio, rubber floor mat. Got 28 mpg. I say run it.

I agree with others, it'd be a great driver! Sure moredoors weren't cool, but we're getting older too...... I like Chevy ll's (have 1 project), I see those going for between 3 - 10 grand, I always wonder what they actually got for it or if it sold at all. I'd drive it and have fun with it.

Look for one or 20, add em all up and and divide by the number you found. How much allowance did you give in the trade? Add 15-20% for wiggle room, more if you think you got the better end of the deal. As to what would I pay? Nothing, don't like it, have no faith in 4dr models for resale. They seem to be a car that's "settled for" because no funds or patience exist for the good ones. Hate to be harsh but somebody has to. No offense to 4dr lovers...

Cool little Falcon, a good friend had the same when we were young & raisin' hell. 6 popper & 3/tree. Solid as a rock reliable.
I'd be similar minded as Highlander though. 'Round here, $2-3K would be ballpark, unless a Falcon lover showed up.

  10. I would go $4 on it provided the floor wasn't swiss cheese and it was all there.

Wow, you guys are desperate. Other than a "cute" daily driver, or a parts car for a tudor rebuild, I don't think that car's worth more than a grand.

  12. I agree my friend. Its a thousand dollar car.

But its traditional I can tell by the red wheels.

Around here ~$1000 bucks won't buy much...especially a clean driver like that...
Can't put a number on it, but if I were personally looking, I would check it out at $2-3 thousand in an instant.

Not sure I'd go buy a 4 door, this came to you, has a good profile, I'd say drive it for a while, do some small detailing, tune up, clean up items. Agree, selling 4 doors is a frustrating proposition.

Out in these parts, people are getting desperate for rides of almost any kind. The car is 'cute' to many a newcomer to classic cars and the 'young ones' have been living with mordoors since diaper days. So if you say a comp two door is worth $5 - 7,000.00 then then a super clean 4 door might be worth $3-4,000.00.
I don't know about the rest, but I have been looking at asking prices, including the classifieds here, and I wouldn't be able to afford what I have collected over the last 20 years.

That's a great entry level car for someone starting out. I'm in the $3500 camp.

If you were a whole lot closer, I'd be interested for the right price. Momma would like an old car of here own for a DD in the summer. Paint job and let her at it.

Loose the white letter tires, put some narrow whites on it with some stock Falcon hubcaps.... and it will sell.

This car is listed on Craigslist near me for $15,000.00.
I know these cars have been increasing in value, but WTF?

First car I ever drove was a 64 4 dr, 170 six, three speed on the column. I like 'em for nostalgia reasons. My dad, brother and I took many a fishing and hunting trip in that car.

    Current price guide says
    1. $7,900
    2. $5,530
    3. $3,560
    4. $1,580
    5. $ 948
    6. $ 316

The pics make the front fender look beat up and is the paint flat, or a primer or something? What are those freckles on the roof? Maybe it's just a bad pic, but it doesn't look super clean in that one.

Really cheap driver old cars are hard to find around here that aren't all rusted to shit, but a 6 cyl. 4 door like that is still a tough sell, I'd put a realistic selling price on it of $2K. More like $3500 if the paint was nice.

Asking price and selling price are two very different things.

How in hell do you loose white letter tires ? With a lug wrench ? If you do that won't the wheels fall off ??? :D

Not into more doors, at all. With that said, I think it's a neat looking little car! I like the wheels and poverty caps along with the clean engine bay. As an around town cruiser (running to Autozone, etc) it'd drop $1500 for it. They may pay more up in the rust belt. Also, add some roof racks and a couple of surfboards. Load it up with girls and beer and head to the beach! The SoCal locals would dig that!
