Beauty! I would very much like to hear that run!

  6. Very cool build - and God knows I'm into flatheads. What cam are you running in it? Good that you put some better main caps on the bottom of it.

Only thing that scares me is the chain drive - if you ever break a link, that thing can kill people. Just had to say it now didn't I. :)

That is a beautiful engine and some really fine work! What are you using for bore & stroke? I was under the impression that a 3\8X3\8 flathead was 296" and you had no further room to bore.I have occasionally heard of 304-305" flatheads but have never known how it was done.More stroke?

  8. Yes - most guys today are running a SCAT 4 1/4 stroke crank to get those extra cubes . . . easy deal

  9. Wow, that's just plain Flathead porn right there.
Nice headers, unusual to see the heads chromed, works real nice with overall look, and those scoops are bitchin.

    Headers are polished stainless.
The crank is a 4 1/4 stroke 3/8 bore had everything rechecked.
As far as the chains drive I decided good enough for motorcycles good enough for me. [IMG][IMG]

Model A Mark ported the block. I will see if I can get him to load a few pictures.

    [/ATTACH] Picture 006.jpg Picture 007.jpg Picture 005.jpg Hey guys, here's a few pics of Larry's engine,
Heads are Edelbrock that he smoothed down and polished, flycut for valve clearance and relieved for more flow around the top side of the valves.
Cam was special ground by our own Pete 1 here on the HAMB, I have several cams from him now, love his work.
Cam is nasty for sure ..
Larry and I have a sack full of hours in this engine, lots of fun.
And here's a pic of what its going in, all hand built by Larry, and anyone that knows him, knows his work is top notch.

  14. image.jpg The blower and 6-2 setup look like they once belonged to a deceased racer from Bryan, Texas named Bob Cooley. Did you get the setup from a man name of Mitch, who was Bob's chief tuner on Bob's fuel altered that was Chrysler powered?

WOW, what a beauty!... But it looks like a single angle valve job?...most hot rod-racing motors have 3 angles on the seat and 2 on the valve ( or at least that used to be the norm ) ...was there a reason for this?

    Congratulations! You built a beauty.
Please let us know how it runs after you get it "on the road".
    Will it run cool?
