Sunday models

Tonight's "break" from working on the Cadillacs the last two nights.
An AMT '62 Impala sprayed a while ago. PPG Chevy "Nassau Blue" acrylic lacquer basecoat/clearcoat. '58 Chevy "Fathom Blue" on the dash+st.column for contrast.
Detailed and assembled the interior. Glued the engine in place. Fitted the body, interior and chassis together. Awaiting some more foil-work for the side trim.

Hey guys, hope this is acceptable even though it’s not a plastic model. I always wanted a flathead, but had no need for one and the cost was way out of reach for a conversation piece. I had some scrap wood, a dremel tool, belt/disc sander, scroll saw, drill press and lots of time, so what the hell, make one.

It’s all wood except the exhaust and carb stacks, they are made form an old aluminum lawn chair. There are also some stainless nuts used here and there. Wood dowels and disc were also used. I didn’t have a full size engine, so I down-loaded pictures from the internet for reference. I think it’s pretty much one third scale. The carbs and intake were the most difficult. After carving, I dipped them in white latex house paint and airbrushed to look like castings.

I think the next one is a MOPAR slat six.

thanks fro the comments, here's a couple pics of the carbs, the little engine now resides in a wagon I built for my dog. She gets to ride in ol-skool style at car shows.

My week started off, being given a beat up 1/6 scale, Willys Coupe.
Decided to fix it up, like an old beat to hell, rusty Gasser.
It'll never be period perfect, due to it being a Street Rod, but I'm having fun with it.
Here's a pic of an original, I've yet to take pics of what I'm doing, but I Think y'all will like it.

Drivers door is missing, I'll make one, and the paint still needs a mist coat of black.
I'm going to sell it, so I'm going all out on the rusty survivor look.

Im embarrassed to even post my junk.. 69 Yenko was with help from a friend of the family when I was an early teen and the same friend of the family built the green car for my father. The 57 is the last one I worked on and plan on working on again soon.. Lastly is a 67 my father built back in the late 60's..

 

The models look fine and the '57 Seafoam Nomad should be cool!

sorry I didn't have any plans, just looked at pictures and cut the wood, Speedway catalog has good pics of carbs and intakes

Thanks, I remember I worked on this diorama for about a year on and off. I had made the barb wire by hand all the cans were made from alum. and styrene tube. I had even carved tiny little indian arrow heads. The no hunting tire even had epoxy pored in so it looked like dirty water. The 34 was fun to build I scratch built the seat frames and springs and inner door structure. Ive forgotten now all the things I did but it sure is fun to get out and look at.
