The tire size now is 235/75/15

  2. Just throw some volkswagon tires on the front and drive it. that'll clean it right up until you decide that you need something different.

165/80R15 I think BF Goodrich 80 dollars a copy from Summit racing.

Dang man that's pretty close! Maybe an inch shorter tire up front to bring the nose down about a half inch and your there.

I didn't make them shorter but look how much better it looks with a skinnier front tire

Yeah I'm a bit of a photoshop wizard you might say ;) lol

Mr. Porknbeaner hit the nail squarely on the head. Discount Tire will do you some 165 x 80 x 15" radials for around $55.00 each delivered to your door. Delivery is free. Think they're Nexan brand. I have them on the front of an Anglia. Balance perfect with no weights, and ride nice. Would change the entire attitude of your car for $110.00.

  5. You could easily drop back to a 70 series and give yourself some rubber rake, but the skinny tire is going to be shorter anyway.

  8. Haven't read all the posts but if you want tall skinny 4.5" bolt pattern wheels, go with 40s-50s International pickup wheels...they're 16 by 4.5" and have the 4.5" bolt pattern.... also have the proper bumps in the wheel centers to take a 40-48 ford passenger car hubcap.

I'm suprised nobody has said add a hood. You want a Bonneville style car....a hood goes a long way. Look at your avitar. You can always take off to change up the look.

And yes tires need to be at the top of the list

I agree on the hood. I have a stock model a hood fits nicely at the cowl but my car is about 8inches longer . Thought about trying to find someone to make one .

A hood for your car is fairly easy to make. You could use a large piece of pipe, a oxygen bottle or even maybe a telephone pole

yeah but often telephone poles are made of wood and hard to weld the latches to.

There was a great tech recently about a guy making a Model A hood top out of a Ford F-1 pickup hood, looked really simple and could be made any length, no metal forming was involved. I like your car without a hood but if you really wanted one (a top at least) that article made it look like an easy afternoon job.

Going to clean up real nice. I got a kick out of the door panels, but I would have to get rid of the hexagonal (?) exhaust cover thing. You have a great car and a great attitude to go with it.

  24. Just like the rest said, lot of good potential with some easy changes. First of course some different wheels and tires. Then some cosmetics and other simple clean-up fixes. The VW front tires would be easy money and might even use your existing wheels for now. However, the all new wheel and tire package may be better to just pay now and be done.
