  15. Great start! So, I'm looking at it and wondering how it would look perched up on a 32 chassis with 4 inches lopped off the bottom of the body. I'd have to give some consideration to building it kinda east-coast style, channeled over the frame with a kick in the front and back.........flathead, --skinny whitewalls with 53 stude caps and shiny paint..
Oops! Sorry but the first thing I do is picture it all finished.
    Just an option.
OK, OK....maybe an Olds 303 or even a SBC with super-early speed equipt.

I've been tossing that around too. But I'm 5'10'' and when I sit on the cross member in the car my head is about 2 inches from the roof as is. So if I wanted to channel I'd have to add the 4" back to the bottom and leave floor alone. The thing that sucks is I never got to see this thing in its glory back in the 60s and 70s cruising around Lincoln.

Really nice. I am working on a couple of 31s also. A roadster and a coupe like yours. the chop doesn't look like 4 inches to me, but that's looking at a picture. What is the side window height?
Again congrats on you new find. I have afriend that has a nice running baby Hemi here in colorado. I think he want a grand for it. Just saying

  18. I like sectioned with fenders, sectioned with pseudo fenders, and just sectioned. Either way, sectioning is different. More work then top chopping, with sometime breathtaking results. Here are just a few, and will delete if need be. Don't want to "pollute" your thread. Just say the word. Love that coupe man.

Tons of Grant Harner relatives online in Lincoln. Hope you find some with pictures. Would love to see them. Go huntin' !! Then these posts wouldn't mean much. Have fun.

I bought these pics over a year ago at a swap meet of some East coast (new york Paragons) cars back in their prime. It's cool to see everybody's perspective on model A's and 32's. I personally have never saw a sectioned chopped hiboy on duece rails that's why I bought this one it screams "throw the cookie cutter in the garbage" dont get me wrong I love all Model A hotrods, and 32's. you get all kinds of excitement and education out these cars. The history behind each car is mind blowing. I appreciate any positive feedback back I can get , I do not know everything and love learning everything I can when I can. I've only been in the hotrod scene for 8 years now, since back in 08 when my first ride in a model A was DW'S blown sbc coupe down in AUSTIN. Thanks for the pics and following along.

Here is how I checked chopped I had another cardboard cutout from a model A is had awhile back. The cutout is stock window height and I marked off 4" as seen in pics.

Id build it like a weesner painting.

Put it on a 32 frame, drop the floor to the bottom of the frame rails to gain you your 4 or so inches of head room back. Run a sectioned 32 shell, white walls, full wheel covers and paint it a weird early 60's lilac or something.

Thing 58-62 mild custom rod but not like a crazy show rod

I agree with Tim, here is one of Keith Weesner's paintings .... if they don't get you rev'd up, we need to get your eyes checked ;)
From one "old" Iowa guy to another, your headed in the right direction. Model A's RULE !

One more thing, if you go with a Chevy, and you would like to keep the Headers inside the frame rails, and not use those goofy shorty headers or over used Lakes pipes, .... get a set of Hedman Headers #68300, hang em on the engine, slide the engine in and build your motor mounts.
