Anybody know who made small @6" air cleaners with small v/8 logos for the screen holes? I had a 2X4 Corvette manifold w/ WCFBs in the 70's- sold it for $65, wish I still had it.

Back in 1959,i had 2x4s on my Y-block V8,carbs were off a Cady, but no aircleaner. My hotrods first paint job was black frame with yellow engine and a purple body. At the time best I could do was cooper screens in a 1/2 dome held with a hoseclamp,so I covered the hose clamp on each carb with a black with yellow ribben lace leg garder, this also held a yellow plastic rose in the garders, cars name at the time was "Purple Passion" as a teen I was more interested in getting the pertty grils to ride in it then any guys. Latter repainted body black.

Bumping this back up as I’m looking for ideas for the dual quad set up I’m putting on the 440 in my '48 Dodge. Would prefer individual air cleaners rather than one large one. I've seen people mention using Harley air cleaners but I don't know what model to look for. Any other suggestions? Looking for a mid 60s performance vibe. 6E00ECEB-1988-48A8-B31C-E74E90CCB88A.jpeg

I got some of the repop 427 Cobra air cleaners, but put a taller paper element (wix 42040) in them. The filters are not quite the right OD to fit snugly in the housing, but they do work. The housing OD is just under 8.5"

I like those - unfortunately I’m limited to 7 1/4” max diameter, although I guess I could make some offset baseplates.

I like the Wolk Design and the Helling and Stellings styles, just not so much when both run at the same time. 'need to find one more of either to make a pair..

Stellings and Hellings, common on big block Cobras.

Offset chamber to move the air cleaners away from the firewall.

On a big block Mopar too! What intake are you running?

  19. It’s a factory cast iron intake. They used them from ‘58-‘62.

Then I would consider the same year Chrysler (family) dual four oval air cleaners

Unfortunately his modern carbs have the large air cleaner base, not the small one they used back then. So the old cleaners won't fit without some effort.

I see someone is making them with glass tops and steel basses to fit modern carburetors.
Not cheap or true originals but they do have the look.

Yeah, I would run the early Corvette air cleaners but it's the same deal, and I can't fit a pair of Vette carbs in my fun budget.

I got these off the internet. Can't remember where, but I was looking for a set of air cleaners for my dual quad setup. Sold the car & engine I was going to put them on.
