Nice to see people taking the long way around to get somewhere .Sorry that we didn't know you were
through southern Idaho .HAMBER Stewddude is in Twin Falls and has a 40s school bus that you would
have gotten a kick out of .Safe trip.

John, don't want to hijack your thread and I hope you are having a good time on the road trip. I look forward to my next one. Just to let you know we got Dan's 1962 Metro registered today and next step is the fitout for the food van part. Drove it home and will do a few test runs this weekend. Thanks again for the help with the METRO letters, they turned out great. One photo here and I will send some others to you via PM. P1020858 (Large).JPG

People moved to the more heavily populated area I guess. Still amazes me that you can find this stuff right next to the road.

John, Impalagirl. Thank you so much for taking us along on this adventure! I'm going to make a point of stopping by and saying hi at the 2016 CHRR. Hope to see that coupe of yours there too! Hint hint.

Oh man, for obvious reasons I gotta ask - did you get a head-on shot of that building signage by any chance?

Thanks to Steve Wertheimer, Will and Brian for having us as a sponsor again at the Lone Star Roundup. We love being a part of this every year!

These are the trophies we made for this years event.

Looks like someone found our first treasure from the Scavenger hunt. We left a tee shirt at the memorial in Twin Falls Idaho and Dakota and her friends found it! This makes me smile as wide as the faces in this photo....

What a great weekend! I just dropped Dawn (Impala Girl) and my sweet wife Cynthia (Acme Gal) at the airport. They are flying home today.

I am continuing on towards the Viva Las Vegas show next weekend and will continue to post photos from the road.

Below is the house we stayed in while in Austin. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1460300191.983569.jpg

One of our loyal fans came buy the booth to stock up on his favorite sticker and told this story.

He said that he accidentally ran himself over with one of his hot rods and the last thing he remembers seeing before passing out was this sticker.

In a strange twist of fate he says getting run over may have saved his life. He was not seriously injured from the accident but while getting X-rays and scans in the ER they found lung cancer. It looks like they may have detected it early enough to successfully treat it and for that he is grateful for the accident.

We wish him the best and are grateful to him for sharing his story. We do our best to report it as we hear it.

Interesting story. Glad they found the cancer early - hope he kicks it to the curb !

I love seeing the smiles on the faces of those kids with the scavenger hunt prize. Priceless ! Have a safe remainder of the trip, and drive safely !

Sunday after the Roundup is always bittersweet. It means my favorite event of the year is over and I'm facing the long drive home.

Normally I have to head straight home; having been gone for over a week already. This year I was able to stay longer and got invited to the Salt Lick after party.

Steve, Will, Brian and all the guys in the Kontinentals work so hard to make this show happen. They make vendor move in and set up easier than most shows and somehow, even though this has grown to be a fairly large event the thing feels like a huge backyard BBQ at a friends house.

Most people would retreat home and sleep for a few days after pulling an event like this off but not these guys; they put together one last get together and make it look easy. They host an invite only dinner at the Salt Lick as a thank you and fair well get together.

I was so busy talking to my friends that I forgot to get photos. Here is what I have....

The drive out from the continental club. This is Bob Bleed in his amazing 28 Ford basement find roadster.

Steve's Bluebird Wanderlodge (I want it) that he used to shuttle the band "Southern Culture on the Skids" and their families to the dinner.
