  2. Do you mean the flat filler pieces under the stake pockets on each side? I can measure them tomorrow for you.

Let's see who measures first! It's supposed to be 11 degrees here in the morning. Got to let those pocket drain or they'll rust. I don't think mine are filled at all.

image.jpeg My truck is a 48, but the bed came off a later 50 1/2 to 52, the front pockets have no filler piece, the back both have filler pieces with a drain hole in it. The pocket measures 2in.x2in.

Mackhils makes reproduction pickup beds and parts. According to their catalog, the 48-late 50 bed did not have lower side plates. The late 50-52 bed did have lower side plates. Front to back the late 50-52 bed lower front plate is 17-1/2 inches long and the rear lower plate is 5-1/2 inches long. These dimensions include the stake pocket. You can tell if your bed is an early bed if it has a reveal on the side. The late 50-52 bed sides are flat. Mackhils does not show these flat plates as available parts, just as part of the bed side. Their website is www.mackhils.com. I hope this helps.
