    Thanks alot TLDLTD!

Well, no big updates... i ordered and pre-paid for some parts which will be a 2-3 week delivery:

    Points
    Condenser
    Cap
    Rotor
    Spark plug wires
    Wheel cylinders (4)
    Brake pads (4)
    Brake hoses (4)
    Fuel pump
Took in 5 rims for sandblast/powder coat

Funny thing is, the cost of these parts is almost as much as my purchase price back in 2002 haha!

No, not yet Sauli. The block and heads are being tanked.

Well there You go, anytime the "Phase 2" may cross Your mind, just step back and focus on the most current thing on hand. This I understood was getting the rusty cylinder walls dealt with at this stage. I´m curious to see how that comes along as I´ve never dealt with that myself.
I like the way Your car sits and Your plans with the project sound; looks to me You get to revive a "driver" out of a complete car working on just one mechanical section at a time. The car shows no body-or structural damage to necessitate a full tear-down just to get a solid structure. Having a parts car on hand is a huge plus, too.

For inspirational purposes, here's a speedy photo off the web somewhere of a similar-year, semi-local 6W here in Northern Finland. Similar to Yours, it also was a prairie-/ desert-patinated dry car like Yours, it has a restored, stock drivetrain in it, aftermarket air-suspensions and the cleanest custom interior on original patterns. Save for the dry-brushed motifs on the sides, it's completely stock on the outside, right down to the Inverness Green paint. Just the way it should be. cadillac-de-ville.jpg

Stopped in at the shop today and the block and heads haven't actually made it into the tank yet. The crank is tidied up and some slight ridges appeared, so it'll probably need ten and ten at minimum. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1459814012.032516.jpg

Today i took in a waterpump for rebuilding and did an inventory of the fender skirts i've collected over the years. Some are in rough shape and some aren't too bad at all ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1459896750.686718.jpg

That art work of the flattop really accentuates the beauty of the 60 Cads. IMHO just about the most beautiful full size car of all. Looking forward to seeing more updates. Thanks MOTOV8N

Sorry, i haven't got any information back yet...and the parts fella that took my pre-paid order, forgot to send it in. Frustrating to say the least! The engine man does absolutely excellent work and is just way too busy...on the other hand, that parts fella, is like so many people now-a-days that are useless at their jobs and pay little to no attention to detail. What else can a man do but laugh haha!

Oh.., well I guess You run into that type of service sometimes in this industry..(?) I know I have over the course of my own frame-off restoration going on 6 yrs now..,
Sounds like You need to "touch base" w/ this parts-vendor more often now.., like daily..?

I love your flat top, I like your clean 390 block even more! I have had 60 Cad for awhile, rebuilt most of it did everything myself (except machining the block and heads), rebuilt the Jetaway twice (didn't go deep enough the 1st time). I just spent the winter rebuilding a dual quad set up from a 55 Eldo (correct Rochesters) finally got it installed.

Look forward to the rest of your post as you fix her up.

Man...i hate to say this... ...but i started a new, very time consuming job recently which is seriously going to limit the time that i can spend on the Flat-top...i'm not giving up hope, yet this is going to come right down to the wire! i just got all of the parts, but it is a matter of when to find time to install them...

    I know nothing about Cadillac.
With that said I now have an interest in learning about them.
    Your car is rad.

Having all the parts back sounds good! I'm still curious as to what went into curing those cylinder walls? Rebore, and oversize pistons?
