Sneak peek of the finished product, I will post final pics after it's all gone over with fine "00" steal wool

Hey man looks great! very steady hand, no beers that evening I think..

I only punched and flared some holes, after that I completely took off the nose for a 46" 4"" dropped axle for a better look and handling, I hope..

  3. I'm working on a stock '30 Plymouth Model U for a customer, it's almost the same as yours but has a wooden framed body - yours is a "30-U" - they went to all metal bodies in the middle of the year. Don't know if you need anything for a reference but it'll be here a while as he wants to do a frame off restoration.
Mean Lean, did yours start off as a stocker? I'm still trying to figure out if this came originally with the two "bucket" seats or had a bench that the backs pivot toward the middle like my 50 Pontiac. DSCN1017.JPG DSCN1018.JPG DSCN1019.JPG

I seriously wish this was 2 years ago! All the outer body panels that I guessed and measurements I did we're going off pictures. How long is this measurement supposed to be? Too late now but just curious

    Hey nmpontiac
I started with the same bench seat, but I only bounced up and down on those springs so I put wo comfort seats of a Jaguar in it, now I can put my shifter way back too

Well I finished all my plumbing, used a fuel shut off solenoid to avoid siphoning issues. A friend helped me with the driveshaft. And now it starts to look like something! I'm pretty happy how it turned out. Hopefully I can get it all finished up and the tweeks worked out for Symco Shakedown 2015

Well I took it for the first drive, still gotta get glass, finish the top, and work out all the kinks this spring but other than that it's done!

First test drive I had the toe in a lot so I got a little death wobble, that went away after I adjusted it. Only got up to 25-30 but the long wheel base 131" and the bags in the rear helped a lot. Turning radius (to the left) kind of sucks. I am going to wait until spring to tune the webers before I start doing more road tests and fine tuning the suspension/steering/brakes

  15. Neat old MoPar, have a blast with it! What's your plan with the roof opening?

The roof is just a vinyl tonneau cover, have to finish it up and will use snaps

Thanks! I had a torn up shrunken flannel and figured it would be a nice touch and easy on sunglasses haha. Now just gotta figure out what to do about the ugly loose shift knob
