This is my all time favorite thread and Im going to assume the Mods are aware that Muscle Cars ,post 1964 pics and other deviations from the core focus of the HAMB are included in this 1662 page long thread.

Here's a clearer picture and a couple others of this car. Gene Moody from Bloomfield, IN. 4 time US Nationals winner. Also, won Street Eliminator honors at the 1st World Finals in Tulsa, OK.

My thoughts were about these two living legends - not about where the engine was.

  6. This video was first posted on the HAMB in 2012 but I don't believe it was posted in this thread. If so, I'll remove it. This is real traditional drag racing from 1958 with a flagman starter.

By the way, the "GA 155" T-pickup has been in my garage since 1974.

My neighbor took it, think 1963 or 64. I have had it for years, never post it much, did send it to Peter, the guy who restored the car.

Whether it fits or not, the picture of two of HOT RODDINGS
living legends are WAY more HAMB friendly than you will HOPE to be...
And the shot of those two guys when they were
younger and more"Hamb Friendly" is pure CLASSIC...

  11. Looks like a 65 Falcon on the left side of the photo? Any info on it

  12. 1971 is well past the HAMB cutoff. Maybe I should start posting pictures of Garlits and other from the 70's. Also, this thread is suppose to be about "Drag Cars in Motion". Maybe you start a new thread about "Legends and Icons after the Traditional Days".

Bottom line is if Ryan approves a post then the post is fine, it's his site. Doesn't matter what you or I think. Since the posts past the HAMB period are still up, guess he approves so expect to see more.

Not as of now. I'll go back to the guy that shared it and see what he knows.

  15. @suzukiray: You (and the rest of the people who think it's okay to do whatever it is they feel like doing) really should take the time to read what the HAMB, and this thread, is all about. You've made two posts in the last 3.5 years, so I'm assuming you've been spending all that time doing what most of us started out doing in the beginning, which is lurking and learning.

Originally this only for vintage photos of in-motion drag cars. We soon realized that pit shots were an acceptable extension of this structure. Next, the moderators gave us special dispensation to accept photos up to 1968.

It's like showing up at a Camaro club meeting with a GT350R. Yeah, you're so 'badass' by sticking it in their face, but that doesn't make any less juvenile and wrong. We're just asking the participants of this thread to observe these few guidelines and not be so sensitive when we point out the error.

Oh, and how 'bout a steel-bodied, home-made early funny car?

Looks like Virgil drew a red bulb on that pass.
I was fortunate to get to see him at the World Finals in Tulsa.

The Golden Commando Barracuda has been restored. I'd post a picture but...

Look like they only moved the front forward on this car.

This thread is kind of special in that it preserves that time in drag racing a lot of people were fortunate enough to experience. It does a pretty decent job of monitoring itself in order to preserve it's integrity. There are several different age groups and personalities represented here and that is why we all must try to observe the 'basic rules' and be a little tolerant. This wheel is going to wobble once in a while. It's only human.
