Haven't updated this in awhile. Been slowly chipping away on it. So here's some pics of what I've been up to
After years of work tonight I finally put the body on the floor pan for the last time. Amazingly after everything this body had go thru I got it all straight and square from the B pillars back I'm going to wait on the front till I get my doors back from a buddy who is doing the skins for me
Built this little guy too. I've always wanted a CP style planishing hammer but the price of originals are crazy so I built my own
Excellent progress. I love it. I might rethink the distance between the top of the front spring and the underside of the frame. You've got a pretty flat cross member up there. I like all the body repair you've done. Saved another one. Well done.
I love this car.I just pulled this thread up last week and wondered where you were, nice planisher.Great strides on the car.
Wow. That planishing hammer is very cool! Love the paint job and touches! Will need to keep your photos in my record books so I can do something similar one day. But besides the point, the car is looking great as well! Love the floor, and the body is coming out swimmingly. Good job, can't wait to see it come together!
Great hot rod. Can you please explain the idea behind the tank on the planishing hammer? What is the purpose of it? Instead of just hooking it directly to an air source. Thanks.
After years of work - That's a great hot rod man! Great skill and craftsmanship that shows everywhere you look.
Original CP's used the stand as a air reservoir and after talking to a freind with one he suggested I add a tank. Helps keep a consistent psi to the motor
Dang. Nice work. I missed this build. I just sent you a pm about those valve covers so I found this. Heroic save on that body!
