You missed my point. Anderson's T is the definition of a hot rod. Not that it actually should go in a museum. Cheers.

I really didn't miss your point, I knew what you were saying.
    Possibly you missed my point.
That point being that far too many really nice even iconic cars get scooped up and sit in some private collection where no one other than the owner or his occasional guests get to see them and enjoy them.
    Or some stuffy museum maybe.

    I don't want a car I can't drive, a gun I can't shoot, or a woman that can't cook. But I'm old.;)

  5. And why is that wrong?!?!? If I own the damn thing I OWE NOBODY the option of seeing my private property. And you forget..............stuffy museums care for and curate many things that would have been thrown away only to save them for the rest of us to view.

  6. Maybe I'm late to this thought ... you are a talented guy obviously ... but if the turtle deck is being remade .... could one cheat it up^^^ a little and to the perimeter a little .... to create a bit more storage area/areas ? I do realize the chassis construction ... but maybe some underwear and sock drawers could help. Yeah it ain't much.

I'm not forgetting anything. Museums have their place in preservation of lots of things.
Have you ever been through Speedy bills private museum ?
    It's pretty amazing.
My point was that many of the cars we love end up in private collections or stored away under wraps and it would be nice to see some of them occasionally.
    That's all.
Yet you feel the need to yell and defend yourself.
    Oh well.

  9. Jeeze, take the drama somewhere else! This is a great thread of a bitchin' hotrod. Let's not cloud it up with all this back and forth over museums and ownership and privileges.

Last I checked, Anderson has been driving the heck out of it, and is gearing up to tear it apart for paint, not stashing it away from prying eyes.

  10. Are you still planning on a second turtle deck as a tail pan like you originally talked about?

  15. .... man that looks soooooooo good !!

I do dig the red pan ... too much bustle hanging .... clamshellish right ? I always thought that Rico T used an upside down turtle deck as his pan. Yesterday's metal forming. Whatever you do, I can't wait to see it. The way yours is set up .... a rolled pan under your supervision ... night and day.

Hate polluting threads with ohs and ahs, like my pining heart matters.

Have you considered maybe sectioning the lower pan a little so it's a little sleeker?

I can see leaving it as is with how it sort of lines up with the bottom of the frame, but that may just be the camera angle..

I've told you over and over, but man, do I love that dashboard.. What color are you going to paint it?

  21. Looks like a '47 PU instrument cluster. Looks right at home in there.

  22. I liked the old dash but the '40 dash is perfect, nice change.

Wow, that looks way too nice to have been an original Ford turtle deck, did you fab that?
The pan looks a touch shallower than the original mock up. This version is what I pictured in my mind, and to my eye looks perfect. Just great work.
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Perfect and your making it perfecter (is that a word) with the '40 dash and bottom turtle deck.

You can drive it across the country. Others have in their T's. You will be the center of attraction wherever you go by not only the general public but other enthusiasts that know a "right on" rod when they see it.
