This is a case where I would lobby for no fenders. Hopefully in a dozen years he'll be tired of the fenders and "restore" it to 1979 again. I really like that car, the time period, and most of the styles from then. That was the first Nationals that the family drove a hot rod to. I remember parts of that trip as if it was yesterday.
My old 32 sedan, Buick wires, black nitrocellulose lacquer, gold metalflake fenders with cobwebbing and lace paint on the gas tank. It was the epitome of 1970's styling. Brent Bodily's fendered B-400 in the background. Mick
Brett: I was able to get over and see Dick last June. The 5wndw looks good with the 40 spokers on it. The 32 roadster I hadn't seen. Thanks for posting.
this has been posted a bunch of times, but alchemys comment made me think of it, this was one of those cars that affected me when I was young, and it should be on any full-fendered thread. Early resto-rod stuff, feeds my skylark love too.
Wonder if any of the younger guys with the bone stock A Models with the fenders removed has checked out this thread? Lot of hot rods showing up here. Thanks to everyone who has posted pictures.
He pretty much has a love/hate relationship with the 32 roadster. Like all his stuff, it's a very nice build.
Rodi: The 3 winder was a feature in Hotrod mag in the late fifties.(Nov. '58) It was titled "Evergreen Eyefull". Built , or at least owned by Jerry Berg. There is a thread here on the Hamb about it's re-do., (it's way different now).
I have some, I will try to dig it up. It was a pretty well-known car in the late fifties, got some ink. I think I have some more photos on my computer. I agree, wow!
