I'm suffering from a hub cap addiction. I don't know how many I own but I have been blessed to find some kool sets over the past years. I have been looking for information concerning these wild Kustom wheel covers. I thought that they were built from a KKOA member and he lived around the Ohio area. Does any one have any info on who built them? Just curious.....
I know the bottom one started as a 54 Ford hubcap...Bob Freyes from around the Detroit area has caps Like that he runs on some of his cars....that being said...and I love Kustoms....a little too Greased Lighting for my tastes
I seem to remember a Custom Rodder Magazine showing how to Kustomize some lees than desirable hubcaps from 70's cars with things like bullets, drawer pulls, etc...
I hate to admit it, but he is a friend of mine, if you PM me, I can give you contact info. He does not do computers. He doesn't know it is 2016.
Years ago (90's) KKOA had a koolest hub cap contest and I believe Hub Harness won the award. I saw pictures but none of them were on the car they were just kool wall hangers.
the first hubcap is made up of an Oldsmobile backing with a rare aftermarket viking 4 bar center made by the Calnevar company with blades from a Pontiac hubcap on the edges. I'm not positive on the outer blades.
Jack had an 49-51 Olds sedan back in the 90`s.Light blue primer with bubble skirts. For a little while he showed a customized 70 4-dr Chevelle that was lowered with skirts. I always enjoyed seeing his wide variety of caps he had forsale. The Merc in the second pic is currently for sale. Motor heads collect speed parts. Custom guys collect hubcaps. Why is that.
The center spinner in the first picture and in kustomclassic's picture are from a hubcap called "Viking" caps. They are aftermarket. Highly sought after by the Lowrider community and demand big money, especially for 14" inch caps.
That first photo is KOOL! But it has two things, that gives me nightmares. cleaning those white walls and snakes! SNAKES WHY DID THERE HAVE TO BE SNAKES!!!ha ha Ron...
No quad headlights. I'm done with major kustom work, just some minor stuff left to do. Once she is painted I will run just my Lyons almost all of the time. Although when I feel freaky I will change them and run the spike wheel covers. That is the kool thing about running wheel covers you can change the vibe real easy.....
Man, that is one sweet '60! Never seen it before. How long ago was this picture taken? Is this car a new build? E
