Hi forum friends! I'm looking for some assistance in locating my dad's long lost 1933 Ford pick up that he sold back in 1978. It had a 327 V8 with an automatic and a Ford 9" rear, black bucket seats and slotted ET mag wheels. It also had a custom wood tailgate, other than that it was mostly stock. I do have the VIN to verify the truck.
He sold it to a friend in Pensacola, Florida (we are from Connecticut) who completed the restoration with a black paint job and sold if a few years later in 1981 or 1982. He also added a 4 speed, power steering, cowl lights (not in picture) and a chrome front bumper before selling it. He had many cars over the years, this truck was just another one of his projects that he sold. He mentioned that he may have sold it to someone from Alabama.

I've included some pictures below of after is was sold and painted black and before it was sold and in primer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if the info is from years ago. If you own this truck, know someone who does, know someone that may have it or any info at all, please let me know, thank you!

anything unique that would not likely have been changed if paint, wheels, etc were changed?

I do have the VIN, so that would be the first thing I would look for, but as far as items that would not easily be changed could be:

    1. Muncie 4 speed transmission
    2. 58 Chevy full size meat ball style rear end with coil springs
    3. Generator not an alternator with power steering pump on back
    4. Power assisted steering (off the back of the generator and has a power assisted cylinder like a early Mustang or Stingray Corvette)
    5. Wood tailgate
    6. Mustang bucket seats
    7. Juice brakes
    8. Cowl lights

If I think of anything else, I will update, thanks!!

I don't know a thing about this, but it might be worth running the VIN through to see if shows as active. It might even give you a current registered owner or at minimum state. but again--I have not clue. just did a quick google search.

Contact Bobby Alexander at Powerline Speed & Marine. He's been building rods in Prnsacola since the '50s. If it's still around, he'll probably know.

Tell him Jesse Lee sent you.

Thank Jesse Lee, I spoke with Bobby and he wasn't able to offer much, but he gave me a number of a car club president to call. He wasn't able to offer much help either, but they will both call if they come across anything.

    The search continues!!
