In Denver on business for the next week or so....what hot rod stuff is going on? Shows? Swap meets? Must see car museums ? Thanks.
No shows or swap meets at this time. Museums, try the Forney just off I-70 & Clive Cusslers up north near Ward road. then stop off at Rockabillies for a burger & a beer.
Is streamline still around? We liked to go and kick around there showroom when we are in Denver. Pinkees up in Windsor is a fun stop also.
While I have your attention, what's the summer cruise schedule like? I will be in Denver *A LOT* .... my employer wants me to relo; if I don't do that then I will be traveling a lot.
Plenty of rod runs, events in the summers...NSRA in Pueblo in June, Goodguy's in September in Loveland...lots of small local events...and Golden Cruise the first Saturday of each month...order the Scoop mag at www.scoopautoevents.com R-
Streamline is gone, now a pot grow. Fourney for sure! Cussler and Pinkees would be cool too. Swing down by Sviegels and see if they will let you poke around, 80 year old salvage yard closing up this year, all sorts of stuff and junk. As said, once summer cracks open theres some sort of show going on every weekend, several Wednesday and Friday cruise nights, and of course the big cruise in golden the first Saturday of the month. And that's just the Denver area...
If you are at the Fourney Museum, you will be a only a few blocks from Bert's Model A at 3560 Chestnut Place. Amazing amount of A parts. Denver area has some great cruises as mentioned by others. Have a good time while here.
A bunch of us old farts meet at Burger King at Arapahoe Road / Potomac Street in SE Denver every Saturday Morn about 7:30-8:00. Always like to meet new guys. Somebody there usually knows what's going on around town that day.
Lake Estes, it's beautiful! Go visit the Stanley hotel...and if you're up for a drive go visit Ernest and Sons Auto...and Maddox Salvage...
That sounds pretty close to my hotel in the DTC. I will probably show up, and thanks for the invitation!!
I know Steve at Bert's. I have hauled a lot of A parts to Iowa in my luggage! TSA got kinda weird Model A door release rods once, but that's a different story. Steve was really cool to let me walk around the joint unescorted.
Bert's is a lot of fun! I like the Forney a lot too. I discovered Sveigels last fall. Awesome place. I am sad to hear its is closing.
Nice to meet Nick @fatkoop and the other Denver hot rodders. Nice bunch of guys. Went to the Forney Transportation museum on Sunday. Very much worth the price of of admission. Didn't make it to salvage yards but maybe next time
