  12. I'm finding that out right now . I knew from what my parents told me that it was a popular situation in SO Cal but i really didn't know it reached beyond that and few magazines and some pictures on the Internet but I'm finding that out now .

    What appears to be a classic A/Gas Supercharged showdown is actually the AA/Altered final at Riverside’s HOT ROD Championships. Ed Kohler’s huge holeshot was wasted by a burned piston, giving Ron Mandella both the class trophy and a free pass into Super Eliminator—which Mandella also won for Shores & Hess, overtaking Bob Pickett’s blown Corvette with a 9.56 at 144.60. Though local Anglias were already running Division Seven points meets as Super Gassers on a “test” basis, HRM’s rules honored NHRA’s nationwide wheelbase minimum of 92 inches.
