We lost a great one this past week. Frank Currie, one of the finest Hot Rodders I've ever known. I don't really know any other details.

  8. I'm going to go visit my Torino and hug it's axle assembly, and will pat my rock crawler bumper on the CJ7 today. It took me the HAMB .... to find out what an incredible hot rod warrior Frank Curry was. For years I just loved him for his OFF TOPIC musclecar rears, and Jeep bulletproof rough house goodies.

THIS is what I love even more ....

Frank was a Hot Rodders Hot Rodder :). He built em, drove em and raced em. I have a set of his companies custom made axles in my avatars 34 roadster. Cook's does stuff for Currie and vise versa.
Godspeed Frank, lots of 1st gen "Gow Job" pilots to keep ya company up there. RIP.

I stumbled into Frank at a Power Tour that emanated from Lincoln Nebraska. We had a nice short visit, just a neat old guy, I will always remember how down to earth and warm he was.

RIP...I never knew he had that much history...

  12. Seems to me he build a flying brick of a roadster, drove it to Wendover. changed the cage and tires. flat towed it out to B-Ville and went fast enough to get into the 2 club, then switched everything back and drove it home.

That is more hot rodder then I will ever be.

We lost a good man and his family is no doubt hurtin. Condolences to the family and anyone eles who is feeling the pain of the loss.

Frank Currie had a long race car history. Wish Barney Navarro was here to tell it, read a short set of paragraphs that mentioned Frank...can't remember where.
