OK. I'll bite. If these are staged they are cool. The people and clothes are believable. But, I don't remember seeing any transparent LIFE magazine logos and I don't recall ever seeing any women, including Marylyn, who were so perfectly and clearly depicted as the BEAUTY in the second picture. Also the probable 226 Ford six was as rare then as it is now. If these two shots are historic they are the best of the best.

I am thinking PLYMOUTH 6 cylinder...

  4. Pretty sure those are vintage photos, and I'm pretty sure that is a Mopar 6 as well. I might be wrong on both counts, however.

Pictures saved from the online Life archive have the watermark in the lower right-hand corner. It is a period picture. The Lady Lucks were out of Omaha. I don't think the pictures were ever printed in the magazine.

Notice the blister put into the hood for carb clearance? I'd like to see what it looks like closed.

1933 Terraplane 8, Originally built in 1955 with all late model Hudson 8 running gear by my uncle. I owned the car for 50 years , sold it last year. Got to old to drive it. 100_2556.JPG

Thanks. It's all Chevy except for the obvious. Stock front suspension and stock rear springs in the rear. And it still has all of its termite food too!

  26. It's not on the frame yet?

  27. You know me, I did try to mock it up on the frame as soon as I got it home! With no floors or subframe, it just kind of slid over the frame onto the floor.
