I'm sure we all would appreciate your returning to this thread and posting what sort of sentence is imposed on this pair of scum bags. Way too much plea bargaining going on with cases of this sort down here in GA also. Scrap prices have dropped way down, so that has reduced the frequency of scrap thievery more than the courts and the lenient sentences being issued. Back at the peak of the epidemic proportioned scrap thievery, it got so bad that local business people and landlords on rental housing actually organized a protest on the courthouse steps protesting the plea bargaining and light sentences being imposed. Got a lot of attention, including on Atlanta TV, but I don't really know how much good it did. Hard to gauge with the big drop in scrap prices. Somehow the prosecutors and courts must recognize that there's a big difference in the loss of a car like this deuce or any car which the owner has labored over for years to build or restore, and a late model bought off the lot as a DD and which the insurance companies can easily replace, with the only loss to the owner being whatever deductible the owner had on his insurance policy.
And I should care what you recall ? It was great to see the car recovered and the low life's caught. They look like real winners It would be good to see what the penalty is.
Deputies: Man, woman stole antique car, burglarized storage units Posted: Jan 11, 2016 5:15 PM EST Updated: Jan 11, 2016 5:15 PM EST Jennifer Gravely, left, and Jeffrey Gilstrap, right, are accused of stealing a rare antique vehicle from a storage unit. (Source: Pickens Co. Sheriff's Office) EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) - Pickens County deputies have charged a man and woman with stealing an antique car from a storage unit. Deputies say the rare 1932 Ford vehicle was stolen Dec. 29 from a storage unit at 119 Beacon Hill Court in Easley. Jeffrey Michael Gilstrap, 32, and Jennifer E. Gravely, 34, were arrested Thursday, the same day that deputies recovered the abandoned vehicle at a vacant Pickens residence. Gilstrap has been charged with third-degree burglary, two counts each of grand larceny and petit larceny, three counts each of third-degree burglary second offense. Along with the break-in involving the theft of the stolen car, deputies say Gilstrap also stole another car, three skateboards, bicycle and lawn equipment from other storage units. Gravely has been charged with third-degree burglary and grand larceny for her alleged role in the crime. Both suspects remained in jail as of Monday on the charges.
3rd degree burglary? 3rd degree is a B.S. charge for that crime. 1-7 yrs. in most states BEFORE the attorneys get involved.
Boy, that is one good looking pair ! I would bet those two are no strangers to the legal system. At least they got the car back and both of these idiots were caught. Don
