  2. Let´s see if i´m allowed to post anything this time without anybody being a jerk about it.

I tried it with the leant forwards rear window. Looked pretty bad. I`ll show you if you want.

WOW THANKS James, no matter how I drew it up, it didn't look right. I am making a dolly today so I can take the sedan off the frame and build a jig for the body and make this thing happen!
Madfish it looks like I need to move the rear axle back a little.
    Thanks guys!

I'm thinking that turning that COE into reality would take superhuman metalworking skills. But if you're up to the task, carry on.

  8. Another version with more truck type proportions for a more business like style and with the old army olive drab color to fit the WWII theme

I am by no means a superhuman, nor do I have extraordinary sheetmetal skills, but I am able to grasp what I am good at and more importantly what I am not and how to work around it. I once chopped a bug till the windshield was 8 inches. After looking at most chopped VWs I found they had lost a primary element in they had flattened the wonderful curve of the roof. I knew I didn't have an English wheel, so I kept the roof intact and cut the body to fit. Came out beautiful. The moral of this story? It's all in the perspiration, determination and willing to make mistakes and fix them. Remember the journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step.
The aforementioned story is also the reason for acquiring the sedan, Got the wheels for an English Wheel now, but no room to build it yet, so I got a pre-made roof and center pillar, now just to cut and paste (weld) the 2 bodies I have together.

    You guys ROCK!,
    THANKS Moose,
That is really fitting into what I envision, I like the flatter back, but will have to slowy bring in the belt line accent curve to have it disappear. That is the real challenge to this. But I gotta try right Peanut?
PS I was in Newington for the changing of the leaves this past year, first time I had seen it since I was a little kid, just as spectacular as I remembered!

  12. Last year was one of the most colorful falls that we've had in years...You picked a good time to visit.
Here's a view with the belt curve blended in to the rear section....

THANKS Moose, That is what i will shoot for.
To be honest I don't know how it works here, but would it be al1right to put your (James and Moose) pictures on my build thread on the COE social forum?
Verde, I have to find the black and white pics somewhere, didn't take to many back in the pre-digital picture age. But I will look for them when I get a chance.

I always thought that's the way, a LOT of cars should be chopped.

  24. Took this old British car - a Humber Hawk VI (styled by your very own Raymond Loewy) and did what was needed.

  25. Looks like it's ad lib day on the Photoshop thread so I thought I'd post one of mine...
Did this awhile back for the F.A.S
When I saw this photo of a forlorn , rundown and abandon service station I couldn't help but take a few artistic liberties and move to a better place and time.

Moose, how about using the red off of the mustang and the TQ's along with a beige top? Thanks in advance.

  30. Thanks.
I like these the best when I can manage to bring out the potential in cars that most folks would consider to be too ugly, or not worth their time as a project.
So go ahead and post up your nasty old off brand four doors. Let us see what we can do for you.
