Is that a smoke hanging out of his mouth or something in the distance? Marlboro man riding a horse smoking is one thing but smoking while driving a car at 60 plus with no windscreen? Priceless.

The steering wheel seems to have been engineered to compensate for the short roll bar.

Looks like some sort of polo helmet. Hmmm, vintage HAMB dry lakes car polo...

  9. I thought someone would post some info on the #20 So-Cal A/Modified roadster by now.

It was owned by Keith Baldwin who was a mechanic at SCSS & Bill Barker and ran 129.15 in 1952. I believe that's Bill Barker driving.
They were part of the 4 car So-cal Speed Shop racing team that was very successful at the lakes.

I know it's uncool and unhealthy to smoke and have short roll bars but damn if this guy doesn't rule.

    This Guy DOES Rule!

Smoking was Good for You back then -
And the car / driver is equipped with state of the art safety features...back then.
Roll bar - Engineered Steering Wheel - Hard Hat - Safety Goggles - Respirator (Cigg) - Racing Jacket - Asbestos underware ? - you name it!

I can't help you with info on that car. But I can tell you it's bad ass, and that driver is one cool Mo-Fo!

I feel that bad ass every time I get behind the wheel of my old car. Lol

His is one more cool cat, that are the only one that can go up against Steve McQueen and not come up to short.

I've done my share of bench racing but looks like Johnny Weissmuller here ^^ could bench a flathead. Of course it probably takes arms like that to hold yourself into a car using a "spoke grab" with less body wrapped around you than a HD road glide.
