Thought I could make my own insert for radiator shell , kind of liked the diamond mesh look . Bought some aluminum rod to go with aluminum mesh that work threw out and started.
Bent rod using cheap old tubing bender like this 1456789221757.jpg
After some finesse it looks like this 1456789321487.jpg
Took the mesh and hammered it down into hoop 1456789406902.jpg
    Alittle welding 1456789475196.jpg
Alittle tweaking to fit nice , get some powder satin black and there it is 1456789770979.jpg
Well that was my first technical post ,hope it's not too messed up looking

Nice work. Making that rod fit the contour of the shell ain't no easy thing to do but you nailed it like a pro.

    Awesome piece of work.

  10. Wow. Most of the time I'm disappointed in how guys try to rig up something that looks bad. But, this is really cool.

If you wanted to get fancy you could even add some chrome drawer knobs to change it up later.

Yeah that was the hardest part, especially since I wasn't smart enough to do it before painting the shell ,lots of tape !

  16. I like it. It reminds me of some deuce grills I saw on show rods back in the 60s. I think Barris did one similar to that once.
