After 40+ years the iconic "Orange Crate" roared back to life. Not every day you can see or touch a piece of history. [c4becabe6ad653ce8fe18358b72b3764.jpg[/IMG]
Cool.......I miss Oregon and it's great rodding communities. I'l love to hear that Olds motor roar again.
I've got to ask. Is Mike Thompson and/or his Dad in any of those pictures? Mike did a hell of a job resurrecting a 32 Ford gasser a few years back. Thanks for sharing pictures of the Orange Crate and congratulations on bringing an icon back to life!
Damned nice. A true icon as has been said before. I would have loved to have seen that blast down a track.
I know I'm from VA and you fellas out west must think we're pretty sharp; and I appreciate that. I'm pretty sure you are saying Mike is in the first picture with his back to the camera... but, it looks to me like there are TWO fellas with plaid shirts in that first picture. I think the second plaid shirt guy in the first picture has turned his hat around and is working on the car in the 9th picture. You guys get a gold star for all the club colors! Y'all look great! I knew he and/or his Dad would be there if they could! Thanks for the prompt reply. Al
I would imagine every car crazy boy in the early to mid 60's had a model of this car. Never did get an oportunity to watch it go down the track. My god that engine is a vicious monster. Bad bad ass.
Not just the boys from the 60's. I know I still have two unbuilt and built at least 5 in the late 80's early 90's. Such a bad ass car!!
After all these years to hear the real deal fire up, just flat out AWESOME! Thanks for sharing that historic moment! KK

This thing is so freaking awesome. Will it be making its way to the east coast for any shows? Or maybe Beech Bend for the Hot Rod Reunion?
One of my all time favorites! My grandson wanted to build one of my models of the orange crate. He liked the picture on the box, plus his favorite color is orange I new that its not an easy build. But he did a great job for a eight year old . I mounted it in a display case for him. And now it sits on his desk. I would like to take him to see it in person. Also he built a second one as a slot car. Thanks Ron...
