97's or 94's on a 4x2?

Ok carb gurus, I need some guidance here. I recently picked up an Offy 4 pot intake. It came with 4 94's. A junk 59, a decent 91-99 and 2 decent 8BA's.
I also have 3 good 97's on the shelf.

Obviously I need one more carb. Which would work better for a 327SBC with 462 heads. I know the 94's are better flowing but is that such a good thing with that many carbs? I did a tech search and found 286merc's article. It has a lot of info but more specific to dual carb flatties.

Of the 94's, which version works best? There seems to be a ton of 8BA's on egay.

Don't think you'd notice much performance difference between the two. The 94s would be easier to maintain and tune(cheaper too).

Yeah, 94's are like 3 for the price of 1.

94's will be far less hassle. there isn't really any difference between the versions.

I might be wrong but don't the different versions have different linkages?

Talking about how inexpensive 94's are, I bought 6 94's at a swap meet in Detroit last year for $55 total. I've been looking for another deal like that but so far no luck.

The differences are mostly cosmetic. Sounds like you paid for one and walked off witht he rest :)

Let me put in a vote for the 97's. I've had excellent luck with multiple 97 carbs. (just 2 at a time) Bolt them on, syncronize and drive.

You will have to play around with the vacuum power valves using the 94 style carbs. Yes it's doable, but the mechanical enriching valves on the 97s don't present the same problems.

Besides they look better. I don't think anybody is making ceramic cups in the shape of the 94s.:D

Yeah, I wondered about the power valves on a 4 carb setup. I know when running 2 or even 3 to leave them in but resize them. More than that and usually plug 'em.

Suedesled-What linkage do you have for either setup (97/94)? It's the same intake as your Graffiti setup.
