A buddy called me from there and said it was a good thing I didn't go...he got there fairly early and still had to park 1/2 mile away. He said they had 4 auctioneers going at once, and there was so much stuff that it would be late in the day before they finished...he said people came from all over...with over 2000 bidders...other states too...prices were astronomical...no meat left on the bone

  13. Yeah, I had a feeling it'd be like that. @3wLarry I know you said the one in Pryor this time last year was really busy and high-priced as well. I wouldn't have bought anything anyway, the only things there I was interested in were the shoebox Fords and those were in a lot worse shape and probably went for a whole lot more than the one I'm getting here in a couple of weeks.

I wasn't able to make it, but my dad did and gladly spent my money on a few things. Ended up with the 34' coupe (has tulsa racing history with a driver by the name of Chick Shadwik?), distributor machine, factory relieved 59ab, a very heavy frame table, and Harley XA parts.

It was muddy, cold, too many people with more money than me. Seems like everyone had their eyes on "A" parts. But there were some bargains.

Yes that's what I was looking at too!!
I have a '39 which my wife bought for me 4-5 years ago , but I've just been too busy... the only movement it has done on its own is one of the tires going flat :/

Dang! I thought my wife horded things. That's some serious pathology that had been at work there. I saw some steel implement wheels I'd like to have for yard ornaments in the photos. I just can't imagine. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

As usual with Chupps Auctions, lots of people. They do a good job, have a big following and then all the guys just looking for car bits. Bike stuff and signs went pretty high. A few of the cars went out of sight, some went for nothing. Some good buys, some bad. Managed to buy a couple of good parts and a good project.

This one sounds like some of the big auctions in Nebraska, stuff goes way too high for normal people to buy

I think I have my stockpile of everything hiding within the walls of my abode (I have that pack rat mentality). But I have past properties that have had six feet of everything surrounding inside and outside with isle ways through it all and it was not even a business. This stuff hides from the public eye most of the time. So when its all over the big stretcher moves in and the wounded are carried out. Must have been somewhat surreal.

You'd think someone would have at least wanted the adapter to connect the SBC engine to the Ford drive-train in that chassis in the first photo (???). That's the thing with scrappers, anything GOES. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
