    Wow! Thanks for the memories! This is in my old hometown, Barstow, CA in 1955. I cruised this very spot at this same time just don't happen to be in the picture. That's Eddie Shaidell's hot '40 coupe on the right - it spent a lot of time in his dad's machine shop - Eddie would build a new engine for it, then race all comers until he got beat (which was rarely), then it was back to the shop for more HP.

    1st season out for Sanzo's Willys, that's Wayne (Jr.) Hopkins on right and Paul Sullivan on left. Paul would later partner with Sanzo on the 33 Willys and Jr. went into Jr. Stock racing.
