    Hey guys,
Cant get the Overdrive cable in to the Off position (out) and consequently cant get it in reverse.
Been trying to study up on this transmission, but so far not seeing any info for this problem, all seem to have the opposite issues.
    Any advice would be great
    Thanks Yall!

Transmission in neutral? Then try to pull cable, then shift to reverse. Have you taken the cable off and tried to perform 'lock-out' manually?

lol would you believe it was just the stupid wheel chock?
I moved it and let the car roll back about 4 inches and the handle pulled right out.
When I parked it this morning I rolled against the chock that lets me know the rear bumper
clears the garage door, pulled the parking brake and inside.. whod uh thunk it...
    thanks for the input Cosmo

Glad to see it was an easy fix. Old people hang a tennis ball from a string to hit the windshield when they are in far enough.:)

I never park mine with the OD engaged cause it will freewheel and roll away even if left in gear, I don't trust my emergency brake.

the rear chock was to prevent that as well.. but Ill just disengage the OD each time.

After you park & turn off the motor, put the trans in reverse gear.
Acts as a parking gear, will not freewheel.
    No need to disengage OD.

As 42merc says put it in reverse when you park and the car will stay put. There is a shaft internal to the transmission that disengages the overdrive when shifted in reverse regardless of position of the cable. If not trying to back up with the overdrive engaged would result in going nowhere since the overdrive would freewheel.

leaving it in od is a bad habit to get into. one day you will forget to put it in reverse and when you come out of the store your car will be down the street someplace. ask me how i know!

I believe you use the same brain to put your daily driver into park.
