Is it a true sedan delivery or a station wagon with filled-in rear windows? (I don't know enough about sedan deliveries to tell from the pictures. Also - drive train? brakes?

  3. I do not show a "handyman" two door wagon for 1958. Look this over very carefully 2X, check for filler panels.
There were about 16,500 2 door wagons built in 1958. Rick

Sedan delivery has a one piece tailgate and rear window assembly. The entire back goes up. Not split in two like a wagon with separate tailgate and rear window. Nice 58. They are their own animal when it comes to parts. What car are you trading? What it's worth is often relative and subjective. What is it worth to you to have a nice driver instead of busting your knuckles, chasing parts on a car, etc?

  5. Here's one that I'd bet was a real delivery. tex.jpg

VIN Tag Decoding – 1958 and 1959 Chevrolet

Here is how to decode the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on American made 1958 and 1959 Chevrolet B-body (full size) cars. Locate the VIN tag on the left door jamb. It should be spot welded to the hinge pillar.

Note: This cowl, or trim tag style only applies to Chevrolet cars produced in the USA.
[IMG] The first character represents the model and indicates 6 cylinder or v8 engine.
1st Digit Series What It Is
    A 1100 1958 : 6 cylinder Delray or Yeoman wagon

Tex told me that the new 1958 chevy that they gave him to drive was a pain in the tail but very handy for hauling his stuff.....

Did you guys miss that the OP is from France?.....He didn't say, but if this car is IN France (or elsewhere in Europe)...it would be one rare bird....OEM Sedan Delivery or not. May have a bearing on it's value......up, up and away!

looks real good on the outside - post pics of interior/motor - what engine/trans/rearend/suspension,etc? it is your decision - which do you like more - which one would be easier to sell in your part of the world? a Handyman Wagon is rare, and so is a Yeoman Wagon to find in equal condition to wagon you post in pics, $25-40,000 is not unreal

Cool how they made back hatch look like 2 piece by having handle in middle.
