We tried the Hydra-Link as well, and we too found it little soft and never felt we had full open. So we went back to cable linkage. Good idea, but not perfected at the time.

  11. Jivin Jer...you either don't get it or you don't care. Either attitude will get you in trouble. If it's not clear to you: Stop posting new pictures - anything after 1968 is not where we are at for this thread.

  12. This is probably what you're used to seeing.

I met Ray Sullins about 15 years ago. We used to take the Flying Dutchman funny car 'round to different car dealers in the Kansas City area to do promotions and try to introduce folk to drag racing. One time I was by myself with the rig and when I pulled up in front of this Chevy dealer in south KC he comes bouncing out and says "Hey! How's Al [Vander Woude]?" I allowed as how he was doing well enough and was as crotchety as ever. He introduced himself and proceeded to tell some great stories. This was THE period to be racing...so much innovation and wild times. Unfortunately far too many of those innovators were lost, too.

More Chinese "Halibrands". Once again if it has enclosed trailers, pop up tents or late model cars in the background it is not appropriate for this thread. There were a couple of other photos in this last batch (including the Woodman truck with its bogus 10 spoke front wheels) but this is the most blatant. The only exception would be if it is in direct reference to an original photo (as in showing what the car looks like today) and even that is a bit tenuous. There is another thread for modern day cars built in the original style.

  17. Speaking of the Scootin' Cuda, Dick Harrell and others in their FX fuel machines, I give you this, all in motion too by the way.
