Is there a difference between the sedan doors and the coupe doors for 2 door 1951 Chevrolet vehicles?
Yes, but someone mentioned that the doors on the coupe are sedan doors. I thought they were the same for both. There is some gap on the doors from the roof of the coupe compared to the ones on the sedan and the fenders hit the doors when I try to open them.
Different part numbers for the doors and the skins. I'd bet the coupe doors have a little more arch on the top which may explain the gap you are seeing.
Sorry, had a kid that got the flu and didn't get to take pictures yesterday. Here's a few. The dark green vehicle is the coupe, the cream looking one is the sedan.
..According to Hollanders Interchange,.. "NO'',.....the doors are not the same,....it does not state what the difference is,.....miller
This has been discussed a few times over on ChevyTalk.Org, in the 49-54 forum, several times. Being the Coupe doors are so hard to find, Sedan doors can be adapted by shortening the "B" pillar of the door. In those two, full side view photos of your two cars, it's pretty obvious the "B" pillar is shorter between the Coupe and Sedan doors. I'm glad my doors on the 51 Bus Coupe are in such good shape. And 27 is EXCLUSIVELY "COUPE" for those not in the know. Sedan and Coupe doors ARE NOT interchangeable, without extensive work to Sedan doors to fit a Coupe, as I said above. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
