I know this is all opinion based...but I would like to like to know if you could choose a 1930-31 coupe or a 1933-34, which would it be? I'm torn as I love them both. It's hard to beat a model A for the money, but a fenderless 34 coupe is pretty high on the list! Which is your favorite and why?

  2. I would take the model 40 ! also I do own a model A that I would not trade for any other car! ITS called being SENTIMENTAL !!!! LOL

The only guys who are gonna vote Model A are guys that have one, and are trying to convince themselves that they wouldn't rather have a Model 40...

If I had to pick a car between those two; I'd pick a 32.

I would take the 30-31' coupe....I like the more square, narrow look of the front half....especially as a highboy. Just sort of sits right to me....although I do like the Model 40 too....guess I'm just partial to the earlier style, of plain and simple.....my humble opinion anyways;)... Ray

34 with fenders, definitely. The 34 is the best looking Ford of the 30s and one of the all time great looking cars.

I loved my model A coupe but once you have a model 40 theres no turning back. Id stitch. A basket case 33 34 together before i built another model a even if it was rock solid perfect. If youre gonna go through the work of building a car why not do the one thats worth real money when youre done

I think it really comes down to what a person really likes to look at....I understand the 'value' of a Model 40 as compared to a humble Model A...but with me it's not about the money involved or how much it's worth to anyone else .... too each his own, as I like to think....I just prefer the little, ordinary Model A with my own interpretation of nostalgia in a more basic setup....it really looks appealing to me, and if I'm going to build as a choice between the two offers, ...I will build a Model A....and enjoy the fact that other's might choose Model 40.......let's just have fun doing it our own way:D

A model A coupe is a tough looking car when done right, a 33-34 to me is a graceful, naturally fast looking car , fenders or not. I like the roominess of the 40, just not the cost involved in ownership. And I have owned both. It's one of those arguments that you really can't lose, no matter what you choose.

I want something I can walk away from in the parking lot and know it is likely to be there when I get back.

How much are you willing to pay , A price or 33-34 price ,
Are You tall or short , Skinny or ???
What Size is yr shoe ,
    I am 6 ft , shoe 14 , 245

    I have a 31 Roadster , it's a Bitch for me to get in & out , (( doors are short ))
Stock Floor , pedals , Steering column , 3rd seat out of min van moved back to the Max ,with a removable steering will .

    I have A 30 Sedan , still a little difficult in & out , Doors are a little Longer , same as 30-31 coupe ,(( I beleave 28-29 are shorter ,))
I moved the stock seat's 6 inchs back ,stock floor.

    & my 32 Sedan, I moved the stock seat's back 4 inch's ,
    Stock floor.
Longer door , No prolblems with a longer door limiter,,

So I am asum a 33-34 lot easier because of the Suicide door & longer ,

  19. Love em both, but I'd pick the model 40, over a Model A.
33, 34 Fords have always been a top favorite for me.

I would choose the 33-34 ford. But the model a is easier to find and more adorable.

  23. 34SIDE12_21_15.jpg Well....er, I love model A's but the day I realized I was not going to live forever I went right to the top of my "list" of favorite cars. Couldn't find a 33 but I found a 34 and slowly built it as a 33.
To tell the truth, I'd love to have a model A AND my 34 but model 40 is my favorite.

Got both. I've had my '30 Model A Coupe since high school (1970) and my '34 Coupe since 1999. If I could only keep one, it would definitely be my '34.

For a hot rod I'd say Model A, all day. For just a cool old car go with Model 40. I'm still young (only 57), and not so over weight, so I'll take the A. When I get old and tired of hot rods maybe I'll prefer the 40. Then I can get some gold chains to wear around my neck and throw some lawn chairs in the trunk and sit around behind my car with the other old guys. ;)

Comfort means more the older I get so it's model 40 for the increased legroom.

33, 3 or 5 window, and frankly the 5 might get the nod. Toss the fenders, proper "haircut", too much horsepower, done. While the 34 seems to get all the talk the deal would have to be too good to pass for me to get one. 33 is the hands down winner. The grille is more refined, almost delicate. The hood, even though my version probably couldn't use it, I love the sweep of the louvers and single latch handle. Finally, the doors. Unless it's black, hell even flat black, that damn strip of sheet metal that lets the glass walk back for ventilation? Fuckin eyesore! Mullers up the flow of those lovely doors. Now here I am using words like delicate, lovely, refined, I mean WTF right? My version would be the road going tribute to this one because nothing else compares, does it?
