I think he was at the 2013 Meltdown Drags also, this picture was at 2013 Hunnert Car Heads up
Great Lakes Dragway.

 

Great Lakes posted their GLD the first 20 year event on Facebook, June 4th?

Same day as the Hunnert Car Heads up.

 

Dang they should of had them a day apart then it could have been 2 races one trip.
Its a good pull for a one day event. Last year I picked up St Louis on the way back.

 

Left them a message that it would be a good idea to have their GLD event June 5th. Maybe if enough of us bug em
they will change their date.

I would hate to have no one show, or both events so small that one or both get cancelled.

Tracks are only 100 miles apart, dividing the same group of cars to both places will hurt
both events.

Norb there's a reason there having it the same day! Spite...! There pissed the Hunnert Car guys packed up went to Byron! Now there having there own copy of Hunnert, The first 20 years... I know where I'll be, the guys that don't get it, guys that don't want to change rims, plus Cameros, Cudas, Dusters & Imports will be at first 20 years...
Sadly, it's like lighting candles in the wind, it's a waste of time thinking they will move the date! I agree it be cool to have 2 shows on that weekend... I think a lot of guys would do both shows if 1 was Saturday & other Sunday. Sucks people can't see big picture & promote Vintage racing & grow there Shows, I've always tried to live by the motto Treat people the way you would want to be treated... Sucks for racers & spectators there's no civility! Have shows 2 separate days!!!

 

Getting this thing ready for the Meltdown.

Thanks Sam for letting me know about this thread. GLD is having a show on the same day as the Hunnert Car Heads Up? Well, that is their choice, and we wish them the best of luck.We'll be at Byron obviously. In their defense, with our move to Byron, we had to take what we could in September for the first year. Now that we've worked with BJ more and have an event under our belt, we were given the opportunity to be able to go back to a June date, which was published back in September 27th. It would be great for them to move their event to Sunday, but I don't see them doing that either. If you've got a car that's newer than 1965, then no one would fault you for wanting to go to their show. If you do have one that is '65 or older, Byron will be the place to be.

 

who is going to the drag expo next weekend? this is a good show with a swap meet. it used to be held in st.Charles. I had orinally put this weekend. I meant next weekend.

 

Kevin and I will be there, next weekend, Feb 20-21. Our Trans-Am Valiant will be in the builder's showcase. You can find us most times at our Hot Rod Chassis & Cycle / Victory Speed Equipment trailer. Our first time at this show. Hope it's a good one. I should have some Heads Up postcards as well.

 

I have gone to this show for years. it has always been good to me. I have hauled a lot of stuff out of there. it is usually well attended.

 

I heard it in the radio I was thinking about checking it out.

 

I went last year. It was a couple of years since I went got a nice hill born a few years ago Nice swap meet
