Head liner installed, I'm stoked to have one, so many builds dont ever get headliners for some reason. Photo Jan 16, 10 08 51 AM.jpg Photo Jan 16, 10 08 57 AM.jpg

I'm jealous of your coupe. I have 8 shoeboxes and they are all sedans. I have been driving this Crestliner quite a bit 50 crestliner.jpg

  5. Love it! Sure brings back memories. My first car was a 50 ford crestliner and I've put together several since then. My son is building a KILLER 50 club coupe [turned into a business coupe] right now...supposed to meet him at the shop that's building it tomorrow .
I used a 355 chev/350 turbo/ maverick 8 inch in the last one I did..a '49 club coupe. Man, the chevy goes into one of these so slick. I reversed the uprights, cut the coils and used blocks in the back...had to raise the floor to clear everything.
    Nice work!

Looks great! I have a 49 2 dr sedan. Very rough. I just got a 292 y block for it. Your thread gives me good inspiration.

Well the upholstery guy got the car done way faster then I expected, but I'm stoked (took about 2 weeks), here are some teasers, cant post them all at once!. First one is me picking it up from the shop, had to take the 1963 Caddy out

I had the interior done, I'm not quite sure how or which direction they started with.

The interior looks great. I'll be doing mine in white as well. Being a mechanic by trade, I don't know how long it will stay white though , lol !

One thing I screwed up on is I forgot to give the upholstery shop the trim for the rear glass, they put the glass without it, once again my fault, and now I'm not gonna risk messing up the headliner trying to remove it to put the trim on. I tried with the glass in and its impossible :mad:

I put in the front glass myself and must say it was a PITA!! I got it done after like 2 hours of trying, cussing, drinking beer to calm myself! Also sandblasted, repainted and installed the review mirror. I will agree, the front glass is much harder than the rear due to it's split design. With Craig's Shoebox we started at the bottom, mine we started at the top. Starting at the top went easier.

I think if you want the trim around the rear window , unfortunately you'll need to remove the rear glass and do it again. I don't think you can install it once the glass is in place :( . At least the seal is fresh and its a one piece rear glass .

I think I'm going to skip the rear trim, if it bothers me I'll fix it later.

  29. Aw man, that would bug the dog crap outta me. I would have to pull the window aand put the trim on. If you can look at it, and not want to cry, you are a better man than I.

Either way, nice job on the car. A shoebox Ford is definitely on my list of "someday" cars.
