Really enjoying your work here ,particularly the trunk. You were talking about cleaning the front of the frame with wire brushes, drills etc.I just finished doing the whole frame for my 50 that way.I can feel your pain----

I hit the swap meet on a mission to find tires for this build, and on the last isle I scored!! A set of 5 Firestone 6.70's. Exactly what I was looking for and even have the 5th for a spare!. Super stoked, rushed home had the old 205x75x15 removed, cleaned up the rims and gave them a nice matte black finish. Did I say I was stoked, I even sold the old Ford truck rims so they ended up costing me around $500 mounted and balanced. Man, you're whipping that thing into shape pretty fast. Club Coupes are the coolest. I actually have a '54 Ford Club Coupe.

So the dash and all the interior garnish/window frames were stripped to bare metal, etch primed and painted a black metallic that I liked. Also at some point someone removed the factory radio and put in some old Motorola one piece unit (with a built in speaker), no idea from what?!? I had to repair the dash to be able to use the original radio,
not perfect but it will do the job.

So I hit the original paint with some CLR and green scotchbrite pads to clean off the oxidation and surface rust, then I put a matte clear coat on top. Also put on the rear bumper (its a 1950). New glass was also installed on the doors and 1/4's. Now I had the seats redone a while back, and now I put some cash together so I sent the car off to have the rest of the upholstery done. I know that upholstery should usually be done last, but inside I only really need to do is wiring which is minimal in these cars. Also I had the cash and the interior guy is really busy and just happen to have an open slot so I sent it off to get done. Sitting at the upholstery shop, carpet is a charcoal color , close match to the dash and garnish trim as possible. Also some pics of the seats off white. Photo Jan 08, 2 18 23 PM.jpg Photo Jan 16, 10 08 45 AM.jpg Photo Aug 29, 4 28 32 PM.jpg Photo Aug 29, 4 50 11 PM.jpg

Following this project. Good job. Were the seat covers custom made by your upholstery shop or were they purchased from a vender?

Custom made, I gave the guy some pictures of what I had in mind and he did the rest, same with the rest on the interior.
