    Hey guys,
Thought id throw up a few pics of my ranchy, formally the banana enchilada now known as the slippery gypsy! haha

i brought the car in mid-late 2014, basically a stocker with some mild custom touches that had been done a long time ago, im guessing around '65, including shaved badges and tailgate, frenched headlights, GTO pontiac hood scoop and a few little other details. Put the wheels and tyres off my spinner on it, slammed it, cleaned it up and cruised around for a year, was a neat driver! put it up for sale to finance the completion of my coupe, but didnt really get any serious takers so after chopped last year (mid oct) i pulled it off the road for a little birthday!

was a little tooo low here, shitty original exhaust hit everything and the driveshaft enjoyed attacking the floor haha.
drove like shit but looked awesome! haha just couldnt go too far as the ride wasnt exactly friendly on the car or my bones
    [IMG]
put some aerostar springs in the front and raised the rear an inch, drove it a fair bit like this, heading to chopped last year.
the rear tray is quite the comfy spot to drink and talk shit!
a couple days after that i attacked the body, the car was originally colonial white, which was then repaint pale yellow with some red pinstriping not too long after, then blown over in the final yellow maybe a decade ago. most of which scraped off with the razor blade in sheets, making my job a lot easier!
anyway, a few hundred hours of bodywork (after hours and on weekends) over the next two or three months and it got to this stage, using splines to sharpen up the body lines and get the body a little more fluid than pillowed look most fifties cars have.
Next came spraying it in all u need primer to seal the bodywork up and get ready for paint. This was the start of january this year.
Here you can sorta see the results of using splines
    [IMG]
lots of work to get it to this stage!
and about two weeks ago, we got it in white!
painted on thursday, blocked down on friday night, ready for a big weekend of paint.
Last saturday, a few mates popped round to the shop to lend a hand.

after an all nighter finished around 3:30 am last sunday morning, we had paint! later that day me and my boss Carmine at c.a.d custom came back to wrap it all up in clear.
Here pictured is my mate jonesy giving me a chop out, my stock grille is at the platers still, so he knocked up a tube grille for me, as i had the great idea of getting it to queenscliff rod run, this weekend just gone haha.

this was about tuesday, i wanted the car to have a real larry watson feel, so decided to flame the shit out of the roof. haha
    [IMG]
most nights one or two mates were around to lend a hand, which was awesome!

and the almost finished result! didnt get a chance to block the car down to polish (only so much you can do in a week hahaha) but we got the car done enough to drive to queenscliff!

always liked those Rancheros. When I was a teenager, guy in my little town had one that was Hondurous Maroon (it was the early 60s), lowered, Lee taillight lenses with Ace of Spades in them, white tuck and roll tonneau cover with black Ace of Spades in the center, a 430 Lincoln and a three speed stick. Man I lusted after that car.

  21. Yeah, translate "Splines", into American English.

Very cool. I hope you knocked back plenty of vomit bombs while doing all that hard work. Also known as VB.

Light treatment on all four corners looks rad.
